The gang!
Lost in Space (1965-1968)
Starring: Guy Williams, June Lockhart, Bill Mumy, Mark Goddard, Marta Kristen, Jonathan Harris, and Angela Cartwright
Summary
Sent to explore a distant planet for five years, the Robinson family begins preparations to leave on their space ship. Professor John Robinson (Guy Williams) and his wife Maureen (June Lockhart), along with their children Judy (Marta Kristen), Will (Bill Mumy), and Penny (Angela Cartwright) prepare for their long journey. Going with them is a robot that should help with much of their studies and Major Don West (Mark Goddard).

Major West and Judy
Everything is going well, until Dr. Zachary Smith sabotages things and manages on fouling up their mission. However, Dr. Smith messes up and gets stuck on board the ship and is unable to stay on planet earth. The family, Major West, and Dr. Smith are stuck on another planet now and have to deal with each other.

Issues at hand…
It’s quite obvious that Major West likes the eldest daughter, Judy. The two of them are good friends. Will and Penny find themselves in many situations that are often dangerous. They are curious and try to help those they come in contact with, those being aliens who land on the planet. In the meantime, Professor Robinson and Major West try to figure out a way to get off the planet and are often thwarted by Dr. Smith’s plots.

Dr. Smith with Robby and Will
If Dr. Smith can mess it up, he will. He thinks that he can cause problems for the family and crew, if only to get himself back to earth. Nevertheless, it doesn’t work and he stays with everyone else. Often, he tries to get Robby the Robot to help him, who is just a machine that does as he’s told.
Through many adventures, the family learn a lot and grow together. Maureen is loving toward her husband and her children and wants what’s best for them. She’s very caring toward the people they meet, but always cautious.

Aliens…
Review
An early sci-fi television series that went quite well, launching the start of several other sci-fi television series such as Star Trek and others. Very unique costumes are found in this series, making it seem slightly comical. However, they are very high-tech for the time period it was created in.

Professor and Mrs. Robinson
Lots of imagination went into this series. Dr. Smith causes much annoyance to just about everyone and usually also hurts himself. One is always cheering for Professor Robinson, who is supposed to be the ultimate father. He has a lot of compassion and wisdom when it comes to handling situations. A neat family life.

Penny and Robby
At times, it does not seem advisable for young children who might copy the children in the show. The children often are disobedient or try something without their parents’ permission, but will learn in the end what their mistake was. The parents are very compassionate and loving toward them and try to teach them what’s best.
